A Legacy of Excellence

Eddie Marrero is a baseball developer and talent evaluator with a career spanning 25 years. He specializes in training, scouting, and high-performance player development.

"From working alongside Hall of Famer Barry Larkin to scouting for the Baltimore Orioles, Eddie brings unparalleled professional experience to every training session."

The Journey

Eddie began his professional journey at Champions Sports Plex in Windermere, Florida, working alongside Hall of Famer Barry Larkin and Cincinnati scouting executive Terry Abbott. This foundation set the stage for a remarkable career in baseball development.

In 2010, he joined the American Baseball Institute at the former Philadelphia Phillies spring training complex, where he honed his expertise in professional player development systems. By 2012, Eddie acquired and rebranded the program as ProBound USA Baseball.

That same year marked another milestone: Eddie became an associate scout with the Baltimore Orioles under pro scout Jim Thrift, cementing his connection to Major League Baseball.

Professional Development

Through ProBound USA, Eddie has trained professional free agents and standout collegiate players, with a focus on rehab, return-to-play, and data-informed skill development. His staffs have included former MLB players, veteran scouts, and coaches.

Eddie later partnered with ASPI (Advanced Science Performance Institute) alongside former NFL wide receiver Yo Murphy to expand biomechanical and performance resources, bringing cutting-edge analytics and sports science to baseball training.

MLB Connections

Over the years, Eddie has worked with or thrown BP to numerous MLB stars, including:

Barry Larkin (Hall of Famer)
Ryan Howard
Jimmy Rollins
Gary Sheffield
B.J. Upton
Jose Bautista
Russell Martin
Pete Alonso
Kyle Tucker
Kyle Schwarber
Xavier Scruggs
Roy Halladay (Late, HOF)

Eddie was trained by former MLB players and coaches Ray Burris, Carlos Arroyo, and Steve Schrenk, learning from the best in the game.

Military & Law Enforcement Background

A U.S. Air Force veteran and former police officer, Eddie brings discipline and professionalism to every clubhouse and facility. His military and law enforcement background instills a culture of respect, accountability, and excellence.

Family & Personal Life

Eddie and his wife of 30 years, Patricia Marrero Grandone, have two children who embody the ProBound USA success story:

  • Nicholas G. Marrero - A catcher who won a 2018 National Championship with Chipola Baseball and helped Hofstra capture the 2023 CAA Championship and reach the NCAA North Carolina Regional.
  • Kara Nicole Marrero - An HR manager in Maitland, FL, bringing professional excellence to the corporate world.
